UK man injured in 'cannibal attack'

Jan Ometak, 26, was arrested in the night of 3rd July in Lyonshall, near Hereford, England, after he broke into the house of an elderly couple, attacking them and performing what police described as "cannibalism acts" on one of the occupants. Ometak, who is Slovakian, entered the house where 75-year-old Doug Morgan lives with his wife through a window which was left open. Then the intruder punched Morgan and repeatedly bit him causing severe injuries.
During the "cannibal attack” Doug Morgan lost a thumb, which was allegedly ate by Ometak, and a nipple while some chunks of flesh were gnawed off his face and chest.
Police arrived at the house when the fight between Morgan and Ometak was ongoing. A police officer who tried to immobilize Ometak was also bitten, receiving injuries which required hospital treatment. Ometak was finally subdued by CS gas and arrested.
Morgan, in shock and blood-covered, was hospitalized and his contidion described as "serious but stable".
“There was blood on the walls and this guy was just laughing like a maniac” a spokesman for West Mercia Police said, adding that Jan Ometak has been charged with attempted murder.
